Words can be loud even when spoken quietly. Words can be loud even when read in silence. Words are one of the most sacred and life-changing elements in life. That has been proven through years of history.
Being a storyteller is one of the gifts I value. I write about topics of substance that make people think more in-depth about the past, present, and future through the realms of literature and the arts. As I aspire to continuously be an agent of change through compelling content, I aim to craft every piece driven by research and rooted in a listening ear and care for the people. While I have experience in producing and acting, writing is my forte. It's my thing. It's more than a gift. It's a duty.
Te’Ambera Ware-Ford, a native of Mississippi, is a storyteller by nature. She is an experienced playwright and owner of Ware Girl Productions. She is a producer, blogger, a woman of service, and has been an educator for over a decade. She is a mother, wife, and aspiring author. She is a proud alumna of Jackson State University, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, a NAACP member, a volunteer writer for the American Red Cross, a volunteer of Juvenile Detention Centers, an advocate for children, a writer for various outlets, and a lifelong learner.
She knows all that lies within her treasure box and allows them to shine through her. She has a heart for service to others. She has been spiritually reminded that her life is not her own, and nothing has happened in it that will not work together as she consistently pursues her obedience to the purposes assigned to her.
Motto: It’s Not About Us.
I have been writing since I was 16 years old. I started writing my high school experiences in a diary my mother bought me for Christmas. From there, my diary entries grew into pieces of poetry, and later I began to craft stories.
I enjoy many books, and it is important to read them to help strengthen your craft, but there are so many resources, including workshops, conventions, blogs, and universities. I believe self-educating in various formats is essential to honing your craft.
Oh, absolutely. I've never met a writer who doesn't. So, you are in great company. I simply try to be disciplined and make a list of things that inspire me.
My days are pretty busy. Though I enjoy living a full life, I aim to write every day. No day is going to be the same. Most of my days are filled with a set time to just get down to it at my desk. My Friday-Sundays are my main days where I can finally lounge on the sofa, watch a great movie, grab my favorite cup of tea, and allow my brain to rejuvenate. This helps to step away from it all before starting back at it again. A weekly schedule will look different for everyone. Decompressing looks different for everyone. You have to do what works best for you.
With a background in History, nonfiction is a great interest of mine. However, I enjoy writing literary fiction that's composed of a mixture of genres.
From any and everywhere, especially other people. I'm one who used to drive while listening to music in my twenties and into my thirties. Now, I like to drive in silence. My family no longer likes traveling long distances with me! Ha! I like the silence because it allows me to think about the world, and from there, I begin to ask why questions. Those are the moments where my ground-root thoughts are driven from.
Just write... every day. One small idea will grow into another, and you will have a basis for your story before long. Edit and revise later, but don't forget to research the many resources out there to help you strengthen your craft. Also, study those who have come before you, network with those alongside you, and tune in to who you are to find your voice.
